In his opinion, the demand for new aircraft MS-21 will rise as soon as he starts to fly.
The first flight of MS-21 will be held until the end of this year. Start of serial production is expected in 2017. And at the end of 2018, the airline will first get the liner for commercial exploitation. It will be Aeroflot.
MS-21 will be presented in two versions: MS-21-300 to 160-211 seats and a shortened version of the MS-21-200 on 130-176 seats. Certification of the first version is planned in 2017-2018, the second version – in 2019-2020
Comparison with competitors

Emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere from the MS-21 was reduced by more than 20% compared to existing analogues.
In addition, the designers reduced the turnaround time of aircraft at the airport by as much as 20% compared to competitors. Coupled with better fuel efficiency and the weight of the airline will be able to additionally earn up to $ 3 million for operation of MS-21.

Another constructive advantage of the MS-21 is the use when creating new composite materials. The share of composites in construction is about 40%.
But the most important thing that the MS-21 composite wing is. “As a result, the MS-21 aircraft has received largely foreign element base the implementation of Russian and often do not have analogues of ideas as to how to fly a plane,” says Panteleev.

Finally, Irkut offers customers MS-21 the choice of the new generation engines of the two manufacturers. The first PW1400G from the American Pratt & Whitney. Technical feature PD-14 – the application of the uniform compact inflator that allows you to create a whole family of aircraft engines of a thrust from 12.5 to 18 tonnes and industrial gas-turbine units (GTU). This means that the PD-14 will be able to apply in various types of passenger and cargo aircraft. That is, modern and completely domestic engine in the future to obtain not only the MS-21, but the same SSJ 100, and even Russian helicopters.
The success of the liner is defined at the stage of its development, to the real output of the production line. And the main criterion of success is the number of negotiated solid contracts. And success in the global market provide orders from foreign companies. At the moment there are firm orders for 175 aircraft MS-21 and another 100 options. Among operators – the Russian “Aeroflot” and UTair and Red Wings. Until, of course, there is a demand from the Russian companies, although appear and foreign customers. In November 2015, six aircraft ordered by the Egyptian airline, Cairo Aviation (a subsidiary of KATO Investment) plus an option for another four MS-21 airliner. Among the potential buyers are airlines of Iran and Tanzanian airline Air Tanzania.
“Negotiations with foreign suppliers are conducted, however, without obtaining the European certification of aircraft deliveries abroad impossible. And this will happen until the fourth quarter of 2018. And then will begin delivery of planes to airlines. He is confident that the planned production volume – 70 aircraft per year by 2023 – will be fully redeemed, including foreign airlines. At the same time, half of the planes can go to cover the needs of the domestic market. Panteleev also has no doubts in the commercial success of MS-21, unless he successfully passes all the tests and confirm the declared characteristics.
MS-21 medium-haul aircraft, and this class is the most popular not only in Russia but throughout the world. According to estimates by producers, the demand for it worldwide is more than 20 thousand aircraft. If Russia will sell 1000 of these aircraft, it will be for her the execution of a program-maximum. Thus for the world market of 1000 aircraft is only 5%, says Panteleev.
As for Boeing and Airbus, the success of their upgraded ships out of danger, given the already contracted volumes. Therefore, for a place in the global market will have to struggle the Russian and Chinese aircraft.

“C919 will use the same engines from CFM International LEAP, both on the A320 and B737. This is the newest generation. MC-21 will also be the engines of the latest generation. In terms of comfort or trafficking aircraft C919 is also not offering any kind of superiority, because the volume of the fuselage just 1 cm more than the A320. The comfort of the MS-21 promises a lot faster than a Chinese rival.
