Medvedev: pensions indexed only by 4% due to inflation


Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said Thursday that pensions were indexed in 2016 by 4% due to fears of rising prices.

“Our task was, in particular, and in order not to spur inflation, thus not to devalue pensions and other social payments”, – said Medvedev.

He added that he considers such indexation as a temporary measure. So, in 2017 the government will index pensions to inflation, suggested the Russian Prime Minister.
