At the moment, prepared a contract for production aircraft, created on the basis of the Il-80. In 2017 it is expected to take on-Board complex of technical means (BKTS), and in 2018 — the plane completely.

Recall that earlier it was reported ordering two of this kind of aircraft the Ministry of defence and the first case has already been transferred to the military Department.

The name “doomsday plane” or “plane of the end of the world” means that such vessel is intended in case of nuclear war. On Board is the command complex and, if necessary, can be placed higher persons of the state.

The aircraft is protected from the damaging factors of nuclear explosion and can stay aloft without refueling for several days. In particular, this machine accompanies the US President during his foreign trips.

The Russian counterpart is to manage both the army and Navy and HQs, and missile forces of strategic purpose.

Recall that in may there is information about the revival in Russia of combat railway missile complexes (bzhrk): trains, which can carry strategic nuclear missiles. These trains were developed in the Soviet Union, however, in two-thousand years removed from combat duty. The advantage of bzhrk that they are hardly vulnerable because of their agility and can strike back at the enemy in the event of nuclear war.
