Siluanov spoke out against a sharp strengthening of the ruble

The Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov on Wednesday told reporters that his Department is not interested in a sharp strengthening of the Russian currency. In the case that oil prices will rise above $50 per barrel, the additional revenues will be withdrawn in reserves to curb the growth of the ruble, he said.

The “direct hard” dependencies between oil quotations and the exchange rate Siluanov did not see. “The course is also affects a lot of things, including the decision of the Federal reserve, which is expected to raise rates”, – the Minister added.
