In the CHA opened the exhibition of albert Benois

In the CHA opened the exhibition of one of the most famous representatives of the dynasty of Benois, albert Nikolaevich. Born in 1852 and died in 1936, who knows the glitter of the Royal court, and the trials of emigration, he was not only a renowned water color artist but also an architect, teacher, musician.

The exhibition’s curator, art historian Konstantin Zhuromsky said that the public will see 50 of watercolors Benoit. Special exhibit – an album of travel sketches by albert Nikolaevich, made in the period from 1886 to 1913. The artist has captured and mountains of Italy, and the Finnish scenery, and the Swiss landscapes, and the Volga expanses. And yet – the Imperial yacht in the Harbor (Benoit was part of the inner circle of Emperor Alexander III).

To the first exposure index is composed of works of the artist – compilers have worked in many archives, exploring the exhibition catalogues of the society of Russian watercolorists in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Helsingfors, documents Imperatorskoi Academy of arts and even the publication of the magazine “Niva”.

The Alberta exhibition opens June 14 and runs until July 3.
