Russian citizens have increasingly started to save on everyday products. A record decline in real income last year led to the fact that the consumption of nonfood products fell by 20 percent, and food by 4.2%.

The calorie intake per capita and the size of Russians ‘ spending on products has remained approximately at the same level.
However, the diet of Russians there have been some changes: the inhabitants of the country began increasingly to abandon fruit, fish, vegetables, seafood and alcohol in favor of bread, dairy products and potatoes.
