Russia has become Germany’s rival field of the Crimea and events in Eastern Ukraine. Such conclusions are contained in the analytical report “the White book” which deals with the security of Germany and prepared by the Ministry of defence and other responsible for the security departments of the country, reports Die Welt. The relevant document should be submitted to the German government.

Russia devoted a separate paragraph the White paper. According to the authors of the report, Moscow has ceased to be a partner of the Berlin and moved into the category of competitors. According to them, in Crimea and in Eastern Ukraine, the Russian side has demonstrated a willingness “to forcibly promote their interests”. White paper also contains conclusions, according to which Russia is waging a hybrid war through the media and social networks, and conducts “subversive activities” among other States. Mentioned “military activity” Russia at the external borders of the European Union.
“I think it’s kind of intellectual gymnastics for specific thinktank’s (analytical centers – “MK”) in Germany, who work closely with the Ministry of defence – said “MK” German political scientist Alexander Rahr. Is the attempt to understand the new challenges faced by Europe, including Germany. No need to exaggerate the fact that Russia is named as a possible threat because it is much more important and more dangerous for Europe threat – and it is said in the White paper – such as international terrorism and the subsequent other minor threats.
The fact remains that in Ukraine there was a geopolitical clash between Russia and Europe. Now obviously, the question arose about how to improve, or to alter the European security architecture. There are two concepts. One concept is to build a common Europe together with Russia from Vladivostok to Lisbon. Another concept that will be submitted by Poland and the Baltic States on nartovskom summit in Poland, will encourage NATO and the EU to become the new instruments of deterrence of Russia. Therefore, there are different concepts in Europe, and this is reflected also on the fact that the thinking and planning of German research centers. In Germany, there are followers of both positions. “White paper” is not a doctrine, it is not a law that should be the foreign policy of Germany”.Related posts:
