The assistant Secretary-General of the UN has accused Ukraine of torture

The assistant UN Secretary General for human rights Ivan Simonovic accused the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the systematic use of torture against prisoners militias. He stated this in an interview with The Times.

Simonovic referred to the UN report, revealing details of the crimes of the Ukrainian security forces. The document States that disregard human rights on the part of Kiev so entrenched that requires surgery.

The authors of the report indicate that in Ukraine there are five secret prisons where torture of prisoners.

The UN representative gave examples, when Ukrainian security forces abduct people, and then physical torture, and by torture forced them to confess that they was in an armed militia.

To get arrested you just for the fact, that fall a relative of the alleged “separatist”. Simonovic told you the story when representatives of the security service broke into the home of 74-year-old woman. Not finding her son at home, she beat the pensioner and accused her of terrorism. She is still in prison.

Recently, the UN mission to combat torture was forced by scandal to leave Ukraine. Human rights defenders are simply not allowed to inspect the building of the SBU, where he was able to use torture against prisoners.
