USA, Ukraine and Turkey: the Russians have called the main enemies of their country


Russian citizens consider the main enemies of his country, the USA, Ukraine and Turkey. This is evidenced by survey data obtained by “Levada-center”. List of allies Russians stood for the Belarus, Kazakhstan and China.

The majority of Russians (72 percent) believe the main enemy of the school. In second place with the highest indicator for all history of observation was Ukraine: hostile to it tuned 48 percent of Russians, while last year the figure was 37 percent. In third place stopped Turkey from 19 percent (last year it was considered hostile only one percent of the respondents).

Its main ally, the Russians consider Belarus — those were 50 percent. In second place is Kazakhstan with 39 percent, in third place is China with 34 percent, while last year in support of China expressed 43 percent of respondents. Also a friendly country 10 percent of respondents named Syria (last year only two per cent).

The majority of Russians have a negative attitude to the USA (70 per cent) and the EU (62 per cent). To date, only 24 percent of citizens support the accession of Russia to the EU, while in 2009 the figure was 53 percent.

In an interview with “Vedomosti,” political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin said that the opinion of Russians about other countries are strongly influenced by TV, since most of them have never been abroad.
