The Minister of culture of Ukraine has instructed to restore the “Menorah” at Babi Yar


Minister of culture Yevhen Nyshchuk instructed to restore the memorial sign “menorah”, set in national historical-memorial preserve “Babi Yar” in Kiev. Work is carried out to the 75-th anniversary of the tragedy. At the present time, according to “112 Ukraine”, the monument received significant damage due to natural factors and acts of vandalism.

Also around the reserve needs to be landscaped and the area.

Earlier the mayor of Kiev, Klitschko has signed the order about creation in Babi Yar alleys of the Righteous and the Martyrs.

75-th anniversary of Babi Yar will be celebrated at the state level in September in Kiev.

Recall that Babi Yar became world famous as a place of mass executions of Jews,Gypsies, Karaites of Kiev and Soviet prisoners of war by German forces and Ukrainian collaborators in 1941. In total there were killed more than 150 thousand people.
