Kadyrov bridge in Kadyrgali: Petersburg perpetuated the memory of the President of Chechnya

“For” vote of 9 people, six were against and two abstained, the vote itself was secret.

The Deputy of St. Petersburg legislative Assembly from the “Yabloko” Boris Vishnevsky, who was present at the meeting of the Commission, said that the only thing to explain the position “za”, was the head of the Committee on culture of government of St.-Petersburg Konstantin Sukhenko. He referred to the treatment of war veterans and heroes of Russia, however, according to Wisniewski, “it all sounded not very convincing because Mr Kadyrov has no relation to our city has never had, does his work with our city is not connected”.

Wisniewski hopes that the Commission’s decision will not be approved by the Governor Georgy Poltavchenko, as it only leads to new conflicts and no agreement will cause”. While Wisniewski believes that the name of the bridge is connected with the desire “to do something nice for the younger Kadyrov”. The MP considered the decision “very strange, considering that in St. Petersburg still can’t perpetuate the memory of Brodsky and Dovlatov.

Recall that today Vishnevsky published in his Facebook appeal of Oleg Basilashvili and Alexander Sokurov, who asked not to name Kadyrov the new bridge, while he noted that St. Petersburg residents with indignation will meet the odious names of families on the city map, as Kadyrov Junior “lies the shadow of political assassinations, the Islamization of Chechnya and violations of the Constitution.” Swobe treatment Sokurov addressed Poltavchenko as “Russian officer”.

Earlier, Commission member and local historian Andrew Ryzhkov said that the authorities of Petersburg have on the members of the Commission, the pressure, urging those opposed to the similar names of the bridge, not to come to the meeting.

The question about the bridge named after Kadyrov was submitted for discussion, not for the first time. So, over a year ago with a proposal to assign the name of Kadyrov, Sr. one of the city streets was made by the Deputy of the Petersburg legislative Assembly Vitaly Milonov, however, his idea was rejected due to the fact that Kadyrov has no relation to the Northern capital. Subsequently, several social organizations came forward with a similar proposal, but it never came to a vote, and the leadership of the Commission at the end of April had the idea to name the late President of Chechnya bridge.

Recall that the opposition still cannot get to rename the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky bridge in Moscow, where he was killed Boris Nemtsov, in memory of the policy, although there is already the unofficial title of “the German bridge”. In this case the murder of Nemtsov SK suspects people from the environment of the current head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. In addition, in Moscow there is a street after Akhmad Kadyrov, named in 2004, three months after his murder.

Internet users have criticized the new solution.
