On the cultural map of the capital replenishment: launched the long-awaited art-the site of this season — the Museum of Russian impressionism. On the territory of the factory “Bolshevik” built a spectacular building in the shape of a cylinder, where the collected works of Serov, Korovin, Kustodiev, Igor Grabar, Konchalovsky… they are All from a private collection. The Museum will work officially on may 28.

On the white wall spread out ten meters, 34 of the floating screens of the installation “Breathable fabric”. The basis of animation — 40 paintings from the Museum. Show the process of their creation: from black-and-white sketch to the final colorful result. Each canvas is approaching, is removed, splits into fragments, going for a smear smear at the puzzle, creating the illusion of animated canvas. “They really come to life, becoming in history, far from textbook cliches, unexpected and piercing. We seem to gain a fresh view of how the world watched the Russian Impressionists,” says the author of the installation, Jean-Christophe.
On the first floor — all four of them — in addition to “Breathable fabrics”, there is nothing that prepares visitors to minimalism. On the ground floor, where the permanent exhibition, plenty of space, air, which is necessary for adequate perception of art. Hanging of the painting more comfortable for the eyes: paintings are dispersed at a sufficient distance from each other. Not because they are few, many are in storage (for eight white doors in the hallway). Hung in chronological order: from Vasily Polenov to contemporary Valery Koshlyakov. Individual walls given over to military subjects and of artists-emigrants.
From hidden masters: Nikolay Gorlov, Kim Britov. Yevgeny OKS with “Autumn morning around the campfire” gave a separate window. Of course, most views caught the canvases of the masters: stories of the Crimean Polenov and Korovin, “Window” Serova, “Venice” Kustodiev, floral still lifes Konchalovsky, “Wet Billboard” Pimenov… These paintings were inspired by the composer Dmitri kourliandski when creating the cycle “Music at the Museum of Russian impressionism”.
— I created a acoustic projection of the paintings, their third and fourth dimension, ” says Mr. Kurland. — Painted sound a situation in which the artist worked on the painting. On its last floors will hold temporary exhibitions, now here hung the works of Arnold Lohovskogo. A pupil of Ilya Repin and the friend of Isaak Brodsky, the author of illustrations for children’s books Chukovsky remains today in the shadow of famous contemporaries. So for the first time presented a full retrospective of his work: fifty works from various collections.
