Sberbank will abandon plastic cards in favor of voice recognition


The head of Sberbank German Gref told about the plans of financial institutions to introduce to their customers a system of identification by voice and appearance, that would eliminate plastic cards.

“These decisions that inform the identification accuracy up to 99.9% are in high degree of readiness”, – said Gref in an interview with “Izvestia”.

According to him, limited testing of voice identification is already underway in Moscow. With its help customers will be able from any phone to voice his question without revealing confidential data.

Sberbank expects that the new system will work in two-three years.
