Peskov told about the return of the cold war with NATO


Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov stated that relations between Moscow and NATO back to the cold war period. The Alliance is lately increasingly afraid of the rapid revival of the Russian army, and retired generals of the block and predict the beginning of a nuclear war.

Press Secretary of the head of state said on Monday that the Kremlin was wrong to believe that the rhetoric of the cold war are gone. “She, apparently, in its depths so firmly maintains that this rhetoric that we were mistaken in thinking that it was in the past” – quoted Peskov RIA Novosti.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance would strengthen its military presence on the Eastern borders of the block in response to the “aggressive policy” of the Kremlin. In turn, the commander of the air forces of the United States Herbert Carlisle expressed his indignation about the fact that Russian planes often take off to intercept American intelligence.

Retired military leaders of the West expressed much more openly. For example, British General and former Deputy chief of the United armed forces of NATO in Europe Richard Shirreff said recently that between the West and Russia in the course of the year could start a nuclear war over alleged plans of the Kremlin by seizing the Baltic States.
