The ex-Minister of Finance noted that he is a supporter of changing the pension system some other way. For example, through a change in the retirement age and the procedure for calculating pensions, but not through the abolition of the mandatory funded part.

Earlier Alexey Kudrin spoke about the need for pension reform, in particular to the gradual increase in the retirement age for men and women to 63 years. The idea of raising the retirement age is contained in the proposals of the Ministry of economy, which the Economic Council on Wednesday, may 25, the President will present Alexei Ulyukayev. Kudrin noted that today’s meeting is of an Advisory nature and no decision has yet been taken.

The first Deputy Chairman of the state Duma, member of Committee on budget and taxes Alexander Zhukov later noted that the fate of the funded part of pensions will be solved the next convocation of the state Duma.
