Erdogan has estimated the costs to Turkey of refugees from Syria and Iraq

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the amount of funds spent by Ankara on the reception of refugees from Syria and Iraq. Speaking at the First world humanitarian summit in Istanbul, the Turkish leader told about the $ 10 billion allocated for assistance to refugees. At the same time, the international community, according to Erdogan, spent $ 456 million dollars.

However, assistance to refugees will continue. “We never close our doors to those who are saved from the bombs” – promised Erdogan.

Conversations about the sum of the costs for refugees are conducted in the context of the bilateral dialogue between Turkey and EU. European countries promised Turkey financial assistance and visa-free regime in exchange for the fulfillment of its conditions, while Ankara accuses European leaders of “double standards”.
