Ukraine is not profitable to return the Crimea, said the ex-foreign Minister of Poland

Former Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski followed the pragmatic approach to the territory, the “lost” Ukraine, writes the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. According to him, Kiev should not seek to return to the Crimea and the Donbass, as it is economically unprofitable.

Sikorsky notes that the Crimean Peninsula has too many retirees, and industry East of the “occupied territories” is suffering losses.

It is because of the unprofitability of these regions, Ukraine should concentrate on the successful development of those 90 percent of the territory that it controls, said the former foreign Minister of Poland in an interview with Svenska Dagbladet.

The politician stresses that “the loss of Donbass was painful” for Kiev. But now if “by magic” Donbass return to Ukraine, the country has not enough resources to rebuild the region, said Sikorski.

In addition, the politician noted that Russia will not return Crimea to Ukraine, while the power is Vladimir Putin, reports RIA Novosti.

Recall that a few days ago on Sikorsky collapsed with sharp criticism of the Polish politicians and users of social networks. The occasion was his rude statement against the Minister of defence of Poland, Anthony Macierewicz, which Sikorski has called “the freak” for a passage on Russia in NATO.
