Poroshenko has offered to give “Eurovision-2017” Russia or Australia

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposed to abandon the “Eurovision-2017”. Since this time the contest was won by the representative of the Ukrainian Jamala, who performed a song about the deportation of Crimean Tatars “1944”, next year, Ukraine needs to hold a “Eurovision” on its territory. However, the author of the initiative believes that the country’s budget will not pull such large expenditures.

The author of the petition, published on the website of the head of state, proposes to transfer the right to host the international song contest country, whose representative won second or third place. Accordingly, we are talking about Australia and Russia.

In the text of the petition listed three reasons why Ukraine should withdraw from Eurovision. First, in the country fighting is going on, and to carry out at this moment either would be blasphemous, says the author of the initiative. The second reason – too high expenses for the event. Thirdly, to rely on IMF loans for the holding of “Eurovision-2017” is an unprofessional approach, as the Ukrainians do not want to further delay his neck on the noose of debt.

In order that the President accepted the petition for consideration, it must receive at least 25 thousand votes within three months. At the moment the document was signed by 23 people.

Two days ago, Finance Minister Alexander danyluk has called “a sober assessment of the opportunities and benefits of Eurovision”. Billion hryvnia (about $ 40 million), in which experts estimated the cost of organizing the contest, is a huge amount, he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said yesterday that Ukraine is not going to abandon the music competition on its territory. “We will discuss the question of sources of financing competition, will discuss how better to spend it, then which city will host Eurovision-2017″ (…). Any questions about the transfer of the right to contest another country and can not be!” — he wrote in Facebook.

The final of the Eurovision song contest was held on may 14th. The victory was won by Ukrainian singer Jamala with a song “1944” about the deportation of Crimean Tatars under the regime of Stalin. Second place was won by the Korean Australian DAMI Im song Sound Of Silence. Russian party Sergey Lazarev took third place, thus winning the viewers ‘ vote.

Immediately after the end of the contest broke a few of the scandals associated with the winner. First, in the Internet appeared the petition with a request to review the voting results and, later, Jamal was suspected of violating the rules of “Eurovision”. It turned out that singer had no right to sing a song “1944” (another name – “Crimea is ours”) , as the song was old.
