Yanukovych agreed to testify about the events on the Maidan

The lawyer of ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych Vitaliy Serdyuk said that his client agreed to testify about the events on the Maidan. However, he said that the testimony Yanukovych will give in Russia. According to him, the court in Kiev agreed to turn to Russia with a request to interrogate former President of Ukraine in the videoconference. At the same time, Serdyuk proposed to the new Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko to send an investigator to Yanukovych, reports “Interfax”.

Serdyuk added that Yanukovych took the Russian citizenship. The lawyer insisted on the most open public process and not the non-interference of politicians in the “case of Maidan”.

Serdyuk added that during the investigation the Prosecutor General’s office have collected evidence that would confirm guilt, and Yanukovych believes that the GPU should openly announce it.
