Following the talks, the Russian foreign Ministry Nuland responded to a question of the journalist “MK”, which dealt with the possible independent elections in Donbas, which has repeatedly said the authorities DND and LNR. “We do not recognize the results, like many in the international community if the elections in the Donbass will be held in the framework of the Minsk agreement and outside the agreement, which was presented in Minsk. In particular, it requires that the Ukrainian elections held by Ukrainian standards, but also by the standards of the OSCE,” – said the “MK” Nuland.
Spokeswoman of the U.S. state Department noted that the decision of individuals in the self-proclaimed republics in Eastern Ukraine will not lead to peace in the region, and added that we need to focus on voting, which give the Minsk agreement.
Nuland also spoke about the topics of the meetings in the presidential administration and the Russian foreign Ministry: “We are deeply examined all aspects of the Minsk agreements – how you can improve safety, how to improve the access of international observers, how can we help the implementation of political commitments under the Minsk agreements”. “As you know, USA is not a party to the Normandy format,” said the assistant of John Kerry, but we agree with all the channel partners that we should work in parallel, to try to strengthen these agreements. We work together with Kiev, together with Moscow… We want to see implementation of the Minsk agreements as soon as possible. If the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, [anti-Russian] sanctions will be withdrawn”.
We will remind that about possible election without the participation of Kiev said in early may, the self-proclaimed head of the Luhansk national Republic Igor Carpenter, noting that if Kiev did not dare to hold them, the LC can hold their own. “No problem,” said Carpenter.
