The state Duma raised the minimum wage to 7.5 thousand rubles


In the state Duma in the first reading passed a bill to raise the minimum wage (SMIC) in Russia from 1 July 2016 to 7.5 thousand rubles. Now, the minimum wage is 6204 of the ruble. Thus the law will increase the minimum wage on 1296 rubles.

However, as previously reported, the Ministry of labor, the subsistence minimum per capita increased to 9776 rubles.

According to the authors ‘ estimates, the cost of raising wages while increasing the minimum wage to 7.5 thousand rubles will amount to 6.1 billion rubles.
