WSJ: the Russian Government is drafting unpopular tax measures after the presidential election


According to the newspaper Wall Street Journal, citing Russian officials the possibility of implementing a series of unpopular tax measures preparing by the Russian government. According to interlocutors of the newspaper, measures can begin to implement immediately after the presidential elections in 2018.

A single rate can increase from 13% to 20%, the possibility of increasing the VAT rate and the introduction of a progressive scale of tax on income of individuals. this writes the newspaper, noting that so far on these issues, there was no consensus.
