- USA for the first time in 40 years declassified the amount of debt to the Saudis
The U.S. Treasury for the first time in 40 years opened the amount of external debt owed to Saudi Arabia.
According to Bloomberg, as of March 2016, the US debt to the Kingdom amounted to $116.8 billion
The Saudis are among the ten largest owners of us bonds.
