On Monday morning, Russian media reported that “the Parliament of Venice” is ready to recognize the Crimea as part of Russia. Blogger Andrei Malgin, who drew attention to the news, explained why such messages are fake.
The first information about the readiness of Venice to the Parliament vote for recognition of Crimea, the lifting of sanctions of Russia and condemnation of the “unjust policies” of the European Union against Russia was published in the newspaper “Izvestia”, after which the message went viral and was even reprinted by the Agency TASS.
The media referred to, in particular, on the Deputy of the regional Parliament of Venice Stefano Valdegamberi, one of the three local politicians who allegedly acted with such initiative. According to “Izvestia”, Deputy of the Venetian 25 of the Parliament (of the 51) are ready to support it.
Famous Russian blogger and journalist Andrei Malgin, who drew attention to these reports, noted that they are classical information “duck”.
She recalled that “the Republic of Venice, and with it, its Parliament ceased to exist in 1797,” that you would want to “thank” Napoleon Bonaparte, and the so-called “Parliament of Venice” is just a separatist group seeking the release of Venice from the EU. This, apparently, explains the initiative of the “Parliament”, published on his website which, apparently, was misled by the (conscious or not) to the Russian media.
Malgin said that Venice has no Parliament, and there is the regional Council, which consists of 50 councillors, and 3 of them regularly appear in the Crimea, according to the journalist — on the money receiving side. However, any decision and even the regional Council could not affect the recognition of the Crimea as Venice is only one of the regions of Italy and can not conduct an independent foreign policy.
Reminded Malgin in connection with the fake and that in the old South owned the Crimea Genoese, long enemies of the Venetians, and suggested that now Russia is to be feared, as though not to run into them. However, he suspects that there is another danger — that the Russian journalists interviewed the Doge of Venice (also abolished a century ago the title).Related posts:
