In the center of St. Petersburg opened an unusual Museum – the Museum of emotions. An interactive exhibit will give guests the whole spectrum of feelings from terror and abomination to the positive surprise. Previously the building on Italianskaya street was inhabited by the Austrian Consulate, then the premises acquired and rebuilt for the Museum by the artist Alexei Sergienko. “MK” talked with the Creator of the Museum and toured the exhibition.
“I no longer liked to draw just for beauty, – told the artist. I thought that was somehow not enough. In this Museum we pass through seven rooms and seven corridors, each of which evokes a certain emotion. Emotions generally need to pay much more attention than is customary with us. The artist’s task is to give an impulse, to meet human with emotions. Not quite finished yet, exposure is still being formed, but to us comes about 300 – 500 people a day, even though we do no advertising was not given.“
24 cameras in the lobby in the online mode, show what’s happening at the Museum. After passing through the first corridor, the reporter came to the room of violence and hatred with thematic installations, bloodied targets, broken mirror in the corner and other attributes of these feelings. “When we were preparing this room, consulted with lawyers, says the artist. A few installations had to be removed, because there was the fact that we cannot show. When you finish the exposure, there is still a hanging punching bag”.
Each emotion corresponds to smell, hovering in rooms, and sound. In the room of horror” you can lie in a coffin to think about life. And also to sit in the electric chair, to go to played for the occasion solitary confinement prisoner, who spent 10 years in Solovki. It smells like a damp basement. In the room “abomination” resides “flying dog” from Australia, the cockroaches, the worms that eat each other, and flies that have to put the maggots in rotting head of a cow, and you smell like a terrarium. In the Museum you can experience the positive feelings – joy, fun, inspiration. Fun – with yellow walls, curved mirrors and soft toys, which visitors can take in memory. You room Vdohnovenie you can leave the wishes to the Museum.
Almost all of the exposition Sergienko made. On the adaptation of the former Austrian Consulate in the Museum from the artist and his team took about seven months, a few weeks, the Museum will develop the exhibit.Related posts:
