Russia, the DPRK handed a note in connection with the detention of the yacht “Elfin”


The Russian Embassy in Pyongyang, the North Korean side handed over a note of protest in connection with detention in the sea of Japan the Russian yacht “Elfin” with the athletes. The crew is all good, but data from the authorities of the DPRK on the reasons of detention are still there. The Russian Ambassador is waiting for permission to go to the port to meet the crew. As soon as the North Korean authorities give such permission is also not yet known.

On Board are the captain and four crew members. The Russians took part in the regatta sports in Busan in South Korea and returned to Vladivostok. According to experts, the Russians could be closer than 50 miles from the territorial waters of the DPRK, which is considered a violation.
