Half of Kazakhstan is planning to switch to a “green economy” in 34 years


Kazakhstan announced plans to move halfway towards a green economy” by 2050. With the corresponding statement was made by the head of the Kazakh foreign Ministry Yerlan Idrissov said at the UN General Assembly.

– Despite the fact that our country is well known for the abundant reserves of traditional energy resources, we are clearly committed to develop “green economy”, – said Erlan Idrisov. – We have set an ambitious goal to produce 50 percent of electricity from fossil fuels by 2050.

In addition, the Minister promised that Kazakhstan will ratify the Paris climate agreement during 2016.
