Former Pentagon chief: US President will have to sit at the negotiating table with Putin

The winner of the race for the seat of the American President will have to first engage in negotiations with Russia, says ex-Minister of defense of the USA Chuck Hagel.

– In my opinion, one of the first steps you need to take is to sit down at the negotiating table with (Russian President) Vladimir Putin, — quotes the former head of the Pentagon newspaper the Hill.

The military believes that “it can be frustrating,” but necessary.

– But we are quite aware of the fact that Putin talks at the leaders ‘level,” added Hagel.
