The DCS, James Clapper said that the activities of the former U.S. intelligence officer Edward Snowden caused great damage to American intelligence.

“We were very conservative in assessing damages. Overall it was a lot,” he said in an interview with the Washington Post, adding that the United States still can not accurately determine the size of the damage.

Snowden’s revelations did the terrorist group “very vigilant” and accelerated their transition to a system of electronic encryption.

“There are suggestions that a lot more documents is conditional on the storage and will be published, when he (Snowden) wants,” – said Clapper.
