The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has proposed to tighten the blockade of the Crimea, cut off from the mainland by an artificial channel. Thus the Crimea is actually transformed into an island that, according to the author of the radical initiatives that will bring many problems to local authorities.
The author appeals to the President of Ukraine proposes to dig the isthmus connecting the Crimea with the mainland of the country. “The Peninsula, therefore, will become an island that will cause a lot of problems occupation authorities”, — stated in the text of the document, which appeared on the official website of Petro Poroshenko.
It is assumed that the presence of the artificial channel will exclude the supply of fresh water and the smooth flow of goods to residents of the Crimea. According to the author of the petition, land access to the mainland is “inexcusable luxury” that Kiev should not give the “aggressor”.
In the future, the channel is proposed to use for quick Maritime communication between the Azov and Black seas. This, says the author of the idea, open access to the World ocean service the port of Mariupol ships to bypass the Strait of Kerch.
“After the restoration of the legitimate Ukrainian authorities on the island should be constructed a bridge with funds obtained from the budget of the Russian Federation in the form of reparations” — invited the Creator of the petition.
The petition appeared on the website of the Ukrainian leader on may 5. To date, the idea was supported by 11 people. If the proposal will bring together more than 25 thousand signatures within 90 days, it will be considered the property of the state.
