The mayor of Riga: the Victory Day here forever


“May 9 is not a Soviet or Russian holiday”, – said the mayor of Riga nil Ushakov at the rally at the monument to Soldiers-liberators. About it reports Delfi.

Ushakov urged Europe, the US and Russia to unite for peace. This statement he made, remembering the war in Ukraine. Also should unite for the future of the country and the people of Latvia, in spite of different views, “including on historical issues”.

In an interview with the Agency TASS Ushakov previously said that in the capital of Latvia at the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators come along every year tens of thousands of people.

“Looking at this, understand that this holiday is here forever,” said the mayor.
