Peskov told why Putin congratulated the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday explained why the Russian leader has congratulated the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili on the Victory Day.

According to him, this is due to the lack of dialogue “at the right level” between the parties. Peskov added that Russia did not initiate negative processes in the relations with Tbilisi and Kyiv, and has always advocated good relations with their neighbours and, indeed, brotherly countries.”

While relations with the authorities not affect Moscow’s attitude to the Georgian and Ukrainian peoples. “Therefore, the President addressed the people,” – said Peskov.
