US senators are afraid to give Russia a billion-dollar contract to supply F-16

The representatives of the us Senate lobbying by the US government supply to Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain batch of fighter manufacturing corporations, Boeing and Lockheed Martin in the amount of about $9 billion, writes The Wall Street Journal.

However, they warn the White house that the delay will force customers to buy planes from competitors, including from Russia.

In his letter to the presidential administration of Barack Obama, senators John McCain (Republican from Arizona), Bob Corker (Republican from Tennessee), Jack reed (Democrat from the state of Rhode island) and Claire McCaskill (Democrat from Missouri) said that we should not delay the decision too long, because “America must not miss the opportunity to expand its sphere of influence in the middle East” supplies of weapons, in particular more than 60 F-15 fighters, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and F-35 – the document says.
