At the talks in Sochi, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has offered Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plan for economic cooperation between the two countries. The details of this plan revealed the official representative of the MFA of Japan.
Abe invited Putin plan for the development of bilateral relations, consisting of 8 items. In particular, Japanese Prime Minister offered to deploy in the far East the construction of plants for processing liquefied natural gas, as well as ports and airports, health care institutions, hospitals and other infrastructure.
At the same time, the publishing, Tokyo, in parallel, intends to achieve progress in the negotiations on the Kuril Islands. Recall that Japan disputes the sovereignty of the four Islands of the Kuril ridge.
In turn the official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Japan Yasuhisa Kawamura said that Abe discussed with the Russian leader part of the Japanese side in projects in the field of energy “Sakhalin-1” and “Sakhalin-2”, reports “Interfax”.
Another topic for discussion was the auto industry.
Kawamura also revealed information about the contents of the eight points of the plan. In addition to the construction mentioned above, according to Japanese politics, we are talking about programs in the field of small and medium industries, oil, gas and energy, nuclear energy, high technology, urban planning, and mutual humanitarian exchanges.
As noted by the Japanese representative, Putin called these proposals a beautiful and expressed the intention to cooperate with Japan, “the Japanese have implemented these programmes through the creation of forces of the two countries ‘effective labor”. At the same time, the Russian President stressed that Japan is “an important partner” for Russia in the Asia-Pacific region, and this meeting will help the two countries to continue working on various economic and political issues.
Japanese Prime Minister invited the Russian leader to continue the discussion of cooperation between the two countries in numerous forums. Putin responded to Abe’s invitation to the Eastern economic forum which will pass in September in Vladivostok.
