Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Sochi with foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdel Rahman al Thani. As a rule, the President does not meet foreign Ministers of other countries, however, in this case an exception was made, on which Putin has asked the Emir.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Qatar, said that Putin discussed the political process in Syria, and gave him a verbal message from the Emir. “Its content concerns the development of events in the region, especially with emphasis on the crisis in Syria and the recent escalation of violence around Aleppo”, – said the politician, not becoming to reveal all the details.
In addition to Syria, Putin and Mohammed al-Thani discussed the situation in Yemen and Libya. “Also talked about the need to nudge the peace process in the middle East and to put an end to the occupation of Israel and again to revive the peace process”, — said the foreign Minister of Qatar at the end of the talks.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov noted that Vladimir Putin in response to the message of the Emir confirmed his intention to develop cooperation with Qatar in all fields, including the economy and political contacts, reports TASS.
