Russia blocked the statement of Ukraine in the security Council about the attacks on refugees

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemns the air strikes on the civilian population in Syria, in particular the refugee camp of al-Kammuna in the province of Idlib. In this regard, Ukraine has prepared and submitted to the UN security Council a draft statement for the press.

However, it was blocked by Russia. As UKRINFORM reported, Russia is the only of the 15 member countries of the Security Council opposed the adoption of the document.

Syria has previously denied any involvement in the bombing. Russia blamed them on terrorists (banned in Russia) of the group “Dzhabhat EN-Nusra”.
