Media: Iraqi Kurdistan will hold a referendum on independence

The head of the national security Council (NSC) Iraqi Kurdistan masrour Barzani declared intention of the Iraqi Kurdistan to hold a referendum on the establishment of an independent state, writes The Washington Post.

“Throughout the modern history of Iraq, we lived in denial. By we, I mean the Kurdish people… Iraq is a conceptual failure in which the people, between which there is little to do, have to share an uncertain future,” said Barzani.

According to him, we have to admit that the experiment didn’t work”. Iraq, according to Barzani, is a failed state. “Our further presence there will lead us all to endless conflict and hostility”, – said the head of the NSS.

In addition, according to him, the authorities of failing to protect its citizens.
