Experts predicted the closure of several car plants in Russia due to low demand


Low demand for cars in Russia could lead to the closure of several factories, the newspaper “Vedomosti” with reference to experts of the consulting company BCG. The estimated number of such enterprises — from three to six of the two dozen operating in the country.

Among them may be the company’s development strategy, which is not connected with Russia, as well as the company recently started its production. According to various estimates, some production may be curtailed in 2016. Overall, the Outlook for demand in the car market negative: instead of the previously estimated 4 million car sales per year by 2020 are expected to total 1.9 million sales.
