The cause of the “effervescence” of the Martian surface in the spring, found by French scientists, having modeled the surface of the red planet in a special laboratory Nantes University. Experience has shown that the seasonal elevation changes in which appear strange stripes and the hills associated with streams of water, is activated when the temperature in the Martian conditions of low pressure.
Scientists have built the “earth” and “Martian” conditions, poured in their sand, forming two dunes with a height of 1-2 cm, and placed on their tops by a piece of ice. “On the Ground” the water was calm, only slightly altering the surface of the dunes. But at low pressure of Mars, she behaved differently: rapidly evaporated, pushing the sand and causing marked deformation of the slope.

Those plumes on the sand can leave subsurface water that occurs due to the melting of ice. She might not even break the surface, but still moving Martian sand as a result of its active evaporation. The movement of dry sand looks strange, but experiments show that it forms the spring of the Martian terrain each spring.
