Moscow will form three divisions to counter NATO before the end of the year

The Minister of defence RF Sergei Shoigu said that before the end of 2016 in the Russian army there will be three new divisions. This will be a response to the build-up of NATO forces near Russia’s borders.

Two divisions will be formed in the territory of the Western military district, another in the southern district. The Minister of defence said during selector meeting in the Ministry, reports TASS.

“I have given instructions to apply during the construction of the most advanced construction solutions,” – said Shoigu. According to him, we are talking about the so-called modular designs, which allow you to construct buildings in a few weeks and, if necessary, carry them.

The creation of new divisions Shoigu said in January 2016, then it was assumed that they all will be placed in the Western military district. Later it became known that one motor rifle division appears near Rostov-on-don, two in Voronezh, and Smolensk regions. The number of personnel each unit will be ten thousand people.

Recently it became known that the Alliance decided to throw in the Baltic States an additional four thousand troops due to “Russian activity in the region.”
