And on June 3 (what “MK” already reported) with your audience will communicate Yevgeny Yevtushenko.

What is the book in the era of digital gadgets? What is its role, its importance? In fact, this “red square” festivals just have to Wade through understanding of the new trends is what attracts people, what form of knowledge they choose… a few More figures in the centre of the capital in different thematic sectors will be exhibited more than 100 thousand names of books; in addition to the Moscow book publishers, from the regions catch up more than 50 publishers.

About the nuances of “red square” we were told by the Deputy Chairman of the organizing Committee — Deputy head of the Federal Agency for press and mass communications Vladimir Grigoriev.

Vladimir Viktorovich, the number of publishers decreases gradually?

— Times are not the kindest. Theoretically, the number of registered publishers remains the same, but, of course, the number of publishers actively producing books is decreasing.

Is an irreversible phenomenon? Paper book will gradually go out of circulation?

— Now actively developing all sorts of mobile platforms, and as you progress and stricter enforcement, will begin work publishers producing e-books… In General, you are right, there is a tendency of reduction of the produced paper books, if we take draws.

— What is the main goal of “Red square” is an intellectual feast, which involves all the forces — the writers, artists, entertainers?

— Yes, the holiday is around the books, around the literature. After the first festival, though under a different name has been held in the framework of the year of cinema — hence a tradition of inviting artists and Directors: good literature is the basis for a good script (and will come to us celebrated Directors known for his successful adaptations). And we invited the leading theatres to make its a “reading circle” to leading actors and Actresses performed part or all of their favorite works — fiction, poetry…

…In particular, the festival will present the premiere of a musical and poetic staging of “Eugene Onegin”; the Theatre of the musical will be released with areal adaptation of his “Crime”; Chekhov and the Moscow art theatre, Taganka and Sovremennik” will delight literary programs with the participation of its stars.

— In short, — continues g-n Grigoriev — all the funds involved, for the sake of propaganda read in the most positive sense.

— The Red square comes some elected public or, increasingly, random?

— It is difficult to judge, but by the reaction of the publishers we see that come to bibliophiles — they are attracted as discounts on books (we have agreed with publishers about 25% (on average) discounts compared to the prices in the shops) and the chance to mingle with real classics, to find out what they have in mind what they’re working on, to take the autograph… do not also forget that June 6 is the birthday of Alexander Pushkin, Russian language day, which adds to the holiday even more appealing, because this event is dedicated to the whole program.

— Yevtushenko laments (in a recent interview with “MK”) that lost live contact between reader and writer, which adversely affects writing…

Is a long — standing problem because of the literature, a host of competitors in the interteymenta competitors in the media sphere, Yes, the same audio books, video lectures. So today, looking for, interested person finds other forms of communication with the writers… But our festival is, in fact, reviving the tradition of live communication and in terms of personal meetings with artists, and concerts and lectures — all on seven sites. So, welcome!
