The minimum salary in the country will rise to 7500 rubles


From 1 July 2016 the minimum wage (SMIC) can grow on 20% — to 7,5 thousand roubles. More than a million state employees, the unemployed, whose wages and benefits tied to the minimum wage will get a raise this summer.

Raising the minimum wage in April, announced Dmitry Medvedev, speaking with the report in the state Duma.

The corresponding bill MPs can consider in the first reading on 17 may. It calls for an increase of this indicator with 6204 rubles per month to 7,500 thousand Thus, “minimal” will catch up to the living wage, which now stands at 10524 rubles. By 2020, the minimum wage and a living wage plan to level.

Behind these numbers is a very simple thing. First, by 1.3 thousand rubles will increase the minimum possible salary in the country, which in itself is not bad. Secondly, the minimum wage used in calculations when determining the amount of payments of unemployment benefits, pregnancy and maternity, temporary disability. So these payments will also rise.

And yet, the majority of people it touches — employees in state and municipal institutions. This budget will additionally need to 6.1 billion rubles.

In addition, let’s not forget that the regions are entitled to establish their regional value of the minimum wage (RSP). This is done in the framework of the tripartite agreement between the Executive, trade unions and employers. Currently in Moscow, in some regions of the Far East, the far North RMSP equal to more than 17 thousand rubles.

Employers who violate the agreement may be fined in accordance with the administrative code. According to the labour Inspectorate, such cases are not rare, and the fines reach tens of thousands of rubles.
