Washington urged Moscow to take steps to premeschenie violations of the truce by Assad


Washington urged Moscow to take the necessary steps to ensure that Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad cease the violation of the ceasefire. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry during a telephone conversation with the UN special envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura and the head of the Higher Committee on negotiations of the Syrian opposition Riyad Hijab.

It is noted that Kerry, in particular, expressed concern about the situation in Aleppo. “We urge Russia to take steps to ensure that the regime (Assad) has stopped violations, especially in the form of air attacks in Aleppo”, – stated in the message.

The ceasefire came into Syria entered into force on 27 February. The truce does not apply to banned in the Russian terrorist group “Islamic state” and “Dzhebhat EN-Nusra” and other extremist organizations identified by the UN security Council.
