Scientists: deer were introduced to Islands of Scotland from Europe in the Neolithic

Scientists have found that red deer were introduced by people from Central Europe to the Islands of Scotland about 5 thousand years ago. About it reports a study published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. the Researchers compared the DNA of ancient and modern deer. Analysis of the remains of deer found in the excavations on Orkney and the Outer Hebrides has allowed to reveal characteristic DNA sequence.
