Media: Russia can end war in Syria

Western media believe that Russia’s actions can put an end to the war in Syria.

“Only Russia, which recently won a striking diplomatic victory, protecting the ancient city of Palmyra from Islamic state (banned in Russia), gives hope for the end of a terrible armed conflict in Syria: war, unfortunately, protracted, probably because of the moralizing strategies of the Western powers”, – stated in the publication canadian newspaper La Presse.

“Russia took energetic measures. In parallel with the military operation, the Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, strategist, known for their outstanding craftsmanship, held a diplomatic offensive in order to create a transitional government in which there would be a place and Assad: the prospect, which Washington still stubbornly resists”, – quotes the edition of TASS.

According to the journalists edition, the main mistake of the West who started the fight against Bashar al-Assad – that “they took the side of the so-called democratic rebels, which has provided weapons and attention of the international community”. At the same time the rebels was “no chance of winning and they were quickly broken or destroyed by terrorist groups who seized their weapons.”

“Nevertheless, the West continues to fantasize on the theme of the democratic opposition army in Syria. Washington it is in vain spent millions of dollars training these “Ghost Marines”. Fixation on the installation against Assad was a very bad counselor, and she stems from the same illusions that led to the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the explosion of the domestic situation in Libya in 2011. We are talking about the “duty to protect” the peoples of these countries from their dictators, and all this in spite of predictable consequences,” the article says.
