Men with high incomes often called the criteria of their ideal partner as slender, rich women made claims against their partners that they have not earned as much or even more than they do. Such conclusions were made by researchers after polling 28 thousand heterosexual men and women aged 18 to 75 years, reports the New York Post.

Professor of health psychology at Chapman University and study co-author David Frederick said that he was surprised how significant the differences between men and women. So 46% in the first place made it a condition that their partner did at least as much money as they are. Among men, this criterion selected only 24% of respondents. Successful career of their partners in the paramount, 61% of women and 33% men. At the same time, 80% of men required a harmony of their chosen creatures, while slender men care only 58% of women.

Interesting, but about 95% of people with an advanced degree called an important “slim” partner, while among men with secondary education and below, this factor was chosen by only 12%.

Scientists believe that for men the slim body of their partners is associated with youth, this means that the partner will be able to continue the race. In this case, the woman chooses the criteria men who will help the survival of themselves and their families.

The study can help people to understand why the advertising industry puts so much emphasis on the slenderness of women, says Frédéric, and it may also shed light on why men are so persistently strive for higher income and position in society – because it affects their ability to attract a partner.
