Twisted light is not the speed of light — scientists have found

The speed of light in vacuum is a universal constant, but, according to scientists from the University of Ottawa, it’s not permanent. A group of researchers, headed by associate Professor Ebrahim Karimi found that twisted light propagating in vacuum is moving slower than the speed set in the theory of relativity, which has implications for quantum computing and communications.
