Monday in the media center of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” newspaper held a round table on “Modern trends of political development within the EEU”, on the elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Russian and Kazakh experts and political scientists discussed the upcoming elections in Kazakhstan, the Russian-Kazakh relations, tendencies of development of the EAEC.
In 2016, the States parties to the Eurasian economic Union are entering a new electoral cycle. 20 March Kazakhstan will hold early parliamentary elections. Earlier it was reported that on elections will arrive over 700 observers from foreign missions.

Russian and Kazakh experts on Monday in the media center of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” discussed a wide range of issues, including the main actors and the course of the campaign, stages of democratization of the political system of Kazakhstan, electoral processes in the countries of the EEU, reasons for and objectives of early elections in Kazakhstan, and the Russian-Kazakh relationship in the post-election period.
The round table was attended by member of the Russian Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Irina Rodnina, a Kazakh political analyst, head of the Public Commission on control over the parliamentary elections, co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kazakhstan centre “Eurasian monitoring” Nurlan Erimbetov, a member of the Public chamber of Russia Iosif Diskin, the Director of the Analytical center of the Institute for international studies of MGIMO, political analyst Andrei Kazantsev, journalist, commentator VGTRK Kirill Privalov. The moderator of the discussion was General Director of the Informational-analytical center of Moscow state University Sergey Rekeda.
Sergey Rekeda opened the roundtable, Recalling that in the early parliamentary elections on 20 March with the participation of six political parties. This is the Party of the President of Kazakhstan, Nur Otan, the Communist people’s party of Kazakhstan, Democratic party of Kazakhstan “AK Zhol” and “Birlik” (Unity), National social-democratic party and people’s democratic Patriotic party “Auyl”. Recede stressed that, despite the difficult political and economic situation in the world, the political system of Kazakhstan and the electoral process is developing steadily. “In Russia, attracted great attention to the elections in Kazakhstan. This is confirmed by our today’s round table,” said the moderator of the conversation.
“Upgrading is important for Kazakhstan”
Kazakh political analyst, head of the Republican public Commission for control over elections Nurlan Yerimbetov noted that in 2016 in Kazakhstan elections to the lower house of Parliament – the Majilis and local government. “We have already prepared more than 10 thousand observers, who will work on behalf of our Commission. And about 7 thousand observers will work in all polling stations of the country. There will be representatives of all political parties. Our Commission is 22 people. This is a very respected people in the country. Among them are scientists, journalists, writers and businessmen. It is a separate and independent people,” said Erimbetov.
