Every month, the temperature deviation from the average value continues to increase. In December 2015, it was 1.11 degrees Celsius, and in January 2016 and 1.13 degrees. The record was all warm three winter months. This February was the fifth month in a row, in which the temperature exceeds the norm by more than a degree.
Earlier the year 2015 was declared the hottest on record. This event was the fourth in 11 years, while practically every twenty-first century was warmer than any year of the twentieth century. Shortly thereafter, the experts were of the opinion that 2016 may also be rich in temperature records, and while this prediction comes true in full. In particular, experts admit that the coming summer will be the hottest, at least 135 years.
Some experts believe that climate change currently poses a major threat to humanity. However, according to some versions, in 2017, the Earth is waiting for some chill — this is due to the weakening influence of El niño – a cyclical warming of surface water in the Equatorial Pacific ocean. However, from 2018 the increase in the average temperature in the world, in all likelihood, will continue.
Recently it became known that the totality of the impact of the El niño and human activities led to a not encouraging result — the concentration of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere reached a record level, having overcome psychologically important mark in 400 parts per million.Related posts:
