The visit of Poroshenko to Turkey presented by Kiev as a great success: the President of Ukraine not only secured the support of Erdogan in Crimea, and will soon receive 10 million dollars for humanitarian needs. In fact, the use of the two presidents shaking hands is not enough: Turkey can not help Poroshenko to implement his ambitious plans. And Ukraine is not a substitute for Turkey Russia.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during an official visit met with the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The first and main understanding which hastened to report to Poroshenko, the parties intend joint efforts to return the Crimea to the Ukraine.
“Poroshenko and Erdogan is a marginal Alliance, where the blind lead the lame. One has already lost the territory, and the other soon will lose”
Don’t forget Poroshenko to Express his position regarding the future Hope Savchenko, awaiting trial in Russia. “I, as the President is ready to exercise its constitutional right and swap if needed Savchenko and return her home,” he said after meeting with Erdogan.
Steps and money promises
“The President (of Turkey) supported the joint steps towards de-occupation of Crimea, and for this we are planning to combine efforts in the framework of international organizations, as well as on the basis of new international formats, including the format of the “Geneva+”, with the participation of the guarantors of the Budapest Memorandum, Turkey and Ukraine”, – said Poroshenko at a joint briefing with Erdogan in Ankara.
Erdogan, in turn, assured that “Turkey will always support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea”. “Turkey did not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and does not recognize”, – he noted. The Turkish President noted that Russia, in his opinion, “defied international law” in Crimea. Recalling his dissatisfaction with the interference of Russia in the Syrian conflict, Erdogan angrily said: “Russia declares that she came to Syria upon the invitation of the government… I Wonder at whose invitation she came to Ukraine? They think that because they’re strong, they’re right. But this can not be a speech”, – stressed Erdogan.
The Turkish President also added that one of the main problems raised at the talks with Poroshenko, was the problem of the Crimean Tatars. On this issue, Ankara and Kiev there are no differences.
In this case, fearing, apparently, to bring down the wrath of the “strong” of this world, Erdogan stressed that the actions of all parties must be entirely peaceful. “We believe that the problems in Eastern Ukraine will be resolved only by diplomatic and peaceful means. We support the Minsk process. Once again I urge everyone to stop the fire, away from the line of fire of heavy weapons and pass protection of the border with Russia under control of Ukraine”, – said the President of Turkey.
Assurances of assistance in the Crimea Poroshenko to settle and was moved on to more pressing problems – financial. And received from Erdogan’s affirmative answer. “We finally fulfill our promise to allocate 10 million dollars for humanitarian projects,” he said at a press conference. The Turkish President also recalled another promise, documented in February was signed the Treaty of Ankara allocation of loan to Ukraine at $ 50 million. But “for the desired breakthrough is very important as soon as possible to sign the FTA agreement”, and “it is important to sign the agreement this year,” said Erdogan. However, for the signing of the agreement “there is one important condition: we need to update the agreement on double taxation and investment”, noted the Turkish President.
On agreement, erdoğan and Poroshenko has already responded in Crimea. “Petro Poroshenko has chosen the wrong character for the return of the Crimea, – said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Ruslan Balbec. – Beat in convulsions before anti-Russian politicians is his specialty. And if the whiff of gunpowder, of such an ally was gone. Kind of like Crimea decide to get together, but when it comes to business – to understand yourself is necessary”, – he wrote on his page in Facebook.
Political game Turkey in the Crimea and Ukraine
Poroshenko has been in Turkey for two days and managed to meet not only with Erdogan. Earlier in Ankara he spoke to the Chairman of the Turkish Parliament and representatives of the unrecognized Crimean Tatar Mejlis, which “called upon the Turkish authorities to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 a genocide”, reported the press Secretary of Ukrainian President Svyatoslav Tsegolko in Twitter. The meeting was attended by the speaker of the Grand national Assembly of Turkey (TGNA), Ismail Kahraman, and the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov, said the Ukrainian portal LB.ua.Related posts:
